Bush food walk and talk at Kumbartcho

Next date: Friday, 17 July 2026 | 09:30 AM to 11:00 AM

Wooden Bridge at Kumbartcho with trees round it

Step into nature and discover the flavours of the local landscape along the South Pine River.

Join Jay, Conservation Manager from Moreton Bay Community Nursery, for a guided bush food walk through Kumbartcho Sanctuary. Along the way, learn to identify local edible plants, how they grow, and how they have been used over time.

Discover which fruits and leaves can be used, and simple ways to prepare bush foods at home. As a participant, you will gain a deeper understanding of the local environment and the role these plants play in the local ecosystem.

Finish the walk at Yuraba Conference Centre with a refreshing cup of lemon myrtle tea. You will also have the chance to sample a selection of bush food jams and relishes.

The walk may include natural bush tracks and uneven natural ground. As a result, this experience is suitable for adults who are able to traverse this landscape.
