Calling all craft enthusiasts, makers, and creatives! It is time to thread your way to City of Moreton Bay’s Redcliffe Library for Craftival 2025. 

For one extraordinary day on Saturday 31 May, immerse yourself in free creative, inspirational, and hands-on fun! Whether you are a seasoned artisan or just testing the waters with your glue gun, this event promises to knit together a community of enthusiastic makers. 

Craftival is bursting at the seams with inspiring talks, live demonstrations, hands-on workshops, and a pop-up marketplace brimming with local handmade treasures.  Get ready to stitch, sculpt, and sketch your way through a packed program celebrating the magic of making. 

City of Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery encouraged everyone to come along, get inspired, and enjoy a day of fun and creativity. 

"Craftival 2025 is a celebration of creativity and community, showcasing the incredible talent we have right here in Redcliffe.

What’s in store? 

  • Pop-up marketplace: discover a curated selection of handcrafted homewares, jewellery, and gifts. A perfect patchwork of local talent! 

  • Food truck alley: crafting is hungry work! Refuel with delicious bites, from sweet treats and coffee to German sausages and pizza. 

  • Main stage inspiration, hear from renowned creatives: 

    • 10:00 am - 11:00 am: Meet Rachel Burke, the queen of tinsel and texture. 
    •  12:00 pm - 1:00 pm: Meet Geneva Vanderzeil, the master of upcycling and sustainable style. 

  •  FREE creative workshops:
  • Silversmithing with Jemica Ostrofski: design and create a recycled aluminium keychain (bookings required).
  • Basket weaving: learn the cultural practice of weaving with Wakka Wakka woman Kristine Ellis and members of the Pumicestone Indigenous Education and Employment Council. 
  • Design a sticker: create and print your own unique sticker with Redcliffe Art Gallery’s team.
  • Crafty kids and face painting: keep the little ones entertained with fun crafts and vibrant face art.
  • Crafter in residence at The Sewing Studio: watch Jennis Ardern stitch up a storm as she designs a mystery garment in just five hours! Add your own creative touch to make it a true Craftival original.
  • Musician in residence at The Sound Studio: meet Aaron Shanahan and explore the world of podcasting, DJing, and sound recording. Try out the equipment and lay down some beats! 

Entry is completely free! Just bring your enthusiasm, a tote bag for your handmade haul, and cash or card for delicious eats and unique crafts.
