  • Complements upgrades to Deception Bay Skate Park
  • Another investment in outdoor recreation activities

City of Moreton Bay has welcomed a $530,000 investment in outdoor fun and active living with a new pump track at Deception Bay.

Mayor Peter Flannery said the new facility complements recent upgrades to the Deception Bay Skate Park, in response to strong community demand for more outdoor recreation spaces.

“Our community loves being outdoors, and it’s important that we continue to invest in spaces that encourage active lifestyles, community connection, and time spent in the open spaces Moreton Bay has to offer,” he said.

“We’ve seen the popularity of the Deception Bay Skate Park skyrocket since it was upgraded, and the community has called for more outdoor recreation activities that cater towards differing ages and skill levels.

“Our most recent Council-delivered pump track in Murrumba Downs is a huge success with local families, and we’re confident this new pump track, and another planned in Woodford, will become a hub of activity for local riders and visitors.

Councillor Sandra Ruck (Div 5) said the new pump track was designed for friends and families to come together and have fun.

“As pump tracks quickly grow in popularity, we knew one designed for kids, teens and adults would be a perfect addition to the Deception Bay community.

“Being right near our local PCYC and existing skate park is the perfect spot. I can’t wait to see this pump track buzzing with energy as a space where people come together to ride, play and connect.”

Other Council-delivered pump tracks are located at John Scott Park, Samford and Blatchford Reserve, Murrumba Downs.
