A variety of property searches are available. Time frames to complete searches should be noted especially in the event of a short settlement period.

Complete the appropriate application via Council’s eServices.

Applications for Planning and development certificates require customers to register for eServices prior to lodging the request.

Conveyancing searches

There are three searches available to customers and their solicitors looking to purchase a property.

  • Land record search: provides current rating information, zoning and all relevant property conditions.
  • Building and plumbing search: provides information held by Council in relation to building and plumbing, including conditions, applications, backflow devices and any applicable requisitions.
  • Developed land record search: provides both the land record search and building and plumbing search.

Building and plumbing record requests

Building plumbing records request

Authorised persons can request copies of building and plumbing plans and/or applications submitted to Council through a building plumbing records request application, to assist them with renovating, alterations, commercial fit outs, placing a new structure or to provide finalisation proof for fire regulations.

Building compliance inspection

If you intend to sell your property, prospective purchase may require proof that the building work has been approved and built according to the approved plans and all building inspections have been carried out. Council conducts building compliance inspections that determine these issues.
