Rate assistance for community groups

Community organisations that meet the eligibility criteria may apply to Council for a donation equivalent to the total cost of the following rates and charges levied by Council and Unitywater: 

Council

  • General rates
  • Regional infrastructure separate charge
  • Waste management utility charge
  • Commercial waste management special charge (where applicable)
  • Rural recycling and waste management special charge (where applicable)
  • Rural fire brigade special charge (where applicable)
  • Emergency management fire & rescue levy
  • Redcliffe aerodrome special charge (where applicable)
  • North Lakes enhanced services special charge

Unitywater

  • State Government bulk water charge
  • Water access charge
  • Water usage charge
  • Sewerage access charge
  • Sewerage usage charge 

Application process

Community groups must review the Donations in lieu of rates and charges levied by Council and Unitywater policy(PDF, 196KB) to determine their eligibility.

Applications can be made online by completing a Donations in lieu of rates and charges application form.
