Pledge to be a Wonderkeeper and join the nature collective.

Join artists Nadine Schmoll and Russell Solomon to learn about seven natural wonders in Moreton Bay. Discover their unique roles in the ecosystem.

Get hands-on by creating your own clay art ‘Wonder’ filled with all the elements your Wonder needs to stay alive and thriving.

Walk away as a pledged Wonderkeeper, ready to spread the message of caring for and protecting our natural world.

Everyone is welcome to join in on this free art workshop. You can:

  • choose one of seven wonders to create out of clay
  • learn what your wonder needs to thrive through your own wonder guide
  • fill your clay art sculpture with all the elements listed in your guide
  • Take inspiration from our collection of seven artworks by contemporary artists Dylan Bolger, Norton Fredericks, Kuweni Dias Mendes, Nadine Schmoll, Russell Solomon and Debbie Taylor Worley.

Once you’re done, you are a Wonderkeeper!

The Wonderkeepers is popping up with The Wonder Wagon at Plant-a-palooza in Caboolture.

Nadine Schmoll will be at the events on 14 March and 15 and 17 April. Russell Solomon will lead sessions on April 8 and June 30.

About the artists

Nadine Schmoll

Nadine Schmoll is a local artist and educator whose practice spans art and science to explore plant, animal, and human links. She creates her work through a “nature as teacher” approach. This includes observing and researching the natural world.

Nadine is interested in how humans can learn from more-than-human beings to create mutually beneficial relationships between ourselves and the world around us. Investigations into symbiotic relationships are expressed through collaborative community projects and sustainable use of waste materials.

Russell Solomon

Russell Solomon was born into an artistic family, most notably his Grandfather, Lance Solomon, a renowned landscape painter. Under his tutelage Russell followed his passion and honed his artistic skills.

After a lifetime of drawing, Russell discovered wire as a three-dimensional line. This realisation led him to create his first wire sculpture in 1989. Using wire as a medium for expression offered Solomon a new level of tangibility and engagement to his art.

In his late twenties Russell pursued a full-time career as an artist. In the past 25 years he has incorporated recycled, found objects into his art and continues to express his concern for the environment, its inhabitants, and our impact on it. Russell also often examines social issues facing society.
