Knowledge, innovation and entrepreneurship is one of the 4 pillars of Our City's Economic Strategy 2020-2041. This strategy will drive a bigger, bolder, and brighter city and future for our residents.
As part of this strategy, Council implements the Knowledge, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Industry Plan 2024-2028. This plan details actions we will take to position our city as a top 10 innovation hub. They include:
Council has delivered the Innovate Moreton Bay program for more than 7 years. Since 2025, we have partnered with Creative HQ to continue delivery of the program. The program provides specialised services to foster the city's entrepreneurial spirit. It is led by a local Innovation Director and supported by Creative HQ’s Wellington-based expert team. The program aims to support start-ups and scale-ups in our city. It provides access to resources, enabling our city to prosper and building our capacity to compete successfully in global markets.
