What is ‘Moreton Money’?

Moreton Money is a Buy Local gift card program to support local businesses. It encourages local spending and supports the economic sustainability of the Moreton Bay local business community.  

Every $100 spent generates around $180 of economic impact. #BackALocal #MoretonMoney

About Moreton Money gift cards:

  • they are valid for three years
  • accepted at hundreds of participating City of Moreton Bay businesses
  • you can check your card balance online
  • they work on tap and pay systems
  • they work like a normal card in your digital wallet or a physical gift card.

How to get involved?

It is easy to get involved with Moreton Money to keep the money local!

  1. Purchase a gift card online at moretonmoney.com.
  2. Choose from a physical gift card or an electronic gift card to be sent to your gift recipient.
  3. Plan your shopping and browse local participating businesses that accept Moreton Money.

Ways you can support the Buy Local program:

  • give the gift card to your staff, clients, or suppliers as thank-you gifts or incentives
  • celebrate family and gift-giving occasions with a local gift card
  • shout out your favourite Moreton Money business #moretonmoney
  • look for the Moreton Money logo at your local business or ask, “do you take Moreton Money?”

Note: You cannot use this card in businesses that have not signed up for the program. 

Get your business involved

Local businesses who want to become part of the program and accept Moreton Money gift cards can register their interest by completing the Moreton Money gift card business registration form.

Local small businesses based in Moreton Bay can sign up to the program for free. It is no longer compulsory to be a member of a partnered business group. Local franchisees must join a partnered business group to participate in the program.

You must have an existing EFTPOS, PayWave or Tap & Pay system and be a locally owned Moreton Bay business.

After completing the registration form, one of the program’s partners will contact you.
