Stretch, jog, hike, swim, paddle and dance yourself to better health and wellbeing as the City of Moreton Bay’s Healthy and Active Moreton program kicks off for the second half of the year.

With hundreds of free and affordable activities on offer until 10 December, Mayor Flannery said everyone can make healthy and active lifestyle choices regardless of age, ability, schedule, or budget.

“Improve your fitness and get your heart pumping with a huge range of group fitness classes, boot camps, boxing and HIIT sessions offered at parks and local facilities across the region,” Mayor Flannery said.

“Or for a slower, gentler pace try our popular meditation classes or even yoga, tai chi and pilates.

“Spend quality time with the family and get healthy and active together with paddle boarding, archery, fishing, surfing and guided nature walks.

“Ice baths are new to the program this year, with cold plunges becoming the hottest wellness trend.

“We’re also excited to offer yin yoga and mindful art experiences for women in Kallangur that will incorporate movement, breathing exercises and meditation and mindfulness through art.

“Activities are delivered by qualified and professional instructors in a safe, friendly and inclusive environment so it’s a great way try something new and meet new friends in your community.

“The best part is all activities are either free or low-cost, with the average cost being $4 per session.

“Whether you’re looking to improve mobility, relax the mind, build strength, increase flexibility or simply meet new people, we’ve got an activity for you so jump online and book in today.”
