Notice of Making Amendment Local Law No.1 (Moreton Bay Regional Council Local Law No. 8 (Election Signs) 2019) 2023 and Amendment Subordinate Local Law No.1 (Moreton Bay Regional Council Subordinate Local Law No. 8 (Election Signs) 2019) 2023

  1. Moreton Bay City Council (Council) has, by resolution dated 22 November 2023, made -
    1. Amendment Local Law No.1 (Moreton Bay Regional Council Local Law No. 8 (Election Signs) 2019) 2023 (Local Law); and
    2. Amendment Subordinate Local Law No.1 (Moreton Bay Regional Council Subordinate Local Law No. 8 (Election Signs) 2019) 2023 (Subordinate Local Law).
  2. The Local Law amends Moreton Bay Regional Council Local Law No. 8 (Election Signs) 2019.
  3. The Subordinate Local Law amends Moreton Bay Regional Council Subordinate Local Law No. 8 (Election Signs) 2019.
  4. The purpose and general effect of the Local Law is to amend Moreton Bay Regional Council Local Law No. 8 (Election Signs) 2019 to ensure the effective regulation of election signs in the local government area, including on State-controlled roads.
  5. The purpose and general effect of the Subordinate Local Law is to amend Moreton Bay Regional Council Subordinate Local Law No. 8 (Election Signs) 2019 to change the short title for consistency with the naming convention of Council’s other local laws and to amend reference to the authorising local law.
  6. Moreton Bay Regional Council Local Law No. 8 (Election Signs) 2019 authorises the making of the Subordinate Local Law.
  7. A copy of the Local Law may be -
    1. inspected and purchased at Council’s public office; and
    2. viewed by the public on the website of the Department of State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning.
