Coloured sand recall

City of Moreton Bay has taken immediate, precautionary, and proactive steps in response to the national recall of certain coloured sand products.

Your safety is our priority.

We are following all guidance from Workplace Health and Safety Queensland and the ACCC to ensure our facilities remain safe for everyone.

What we’re doing

• A safety alert has been issued Council-wide to advise all team members to immediately identify and stop using any potentially impacted sand products.

Our waste facilities

• Designated Council waste facilities are managing the disposal of the recalled sand products under strict safety protocols.
• Affected materials should be double bagged and labelled for secure disposal and taken to a designated Council waste facility:  
  • Caboolture waste management facility
  • Dakabin waste management facility
  • Redcliffe transfer station
• All fees for the disposal of the recalled sand products are being waived until further notice.
