Following a spectacular event in May, the Pasifika Vibes Festival has secured $15,000 in annual funding for the next three years through a Council grant.

Mayor Peter Flannery said the festival is a standout each year and he’s already looking forward to seeing it return to City of Moreton Bay in 2026.

“More than 15,000 people attended the 2025 festival, and I’m thrilled to support its continued growth,” Mayor Flannery said.

“This is a true multicultural extravaganza and one of the largest Pasifika festivals in Australia.

“Council has proudly supported Pasifika Vibes Festival since its inception in 2011, and it’s been incredible to witness its evolution over the years.”

Division 8 Councillor Jim Moloney praised the festival’s ongoing success.

“While Council is proud to provide financial support, this is a community-driven vision brought to life by dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly for months to deliver this fantastic event,” Cr Moloney said.

“Pasifika Vibes Festival is a powerful celebration of the cultural diversity of our community and a shining example of what we can achieve when we come together.”

“Pasifika Vibes Festival celebrates the richness and uniqueness of Pacific Island and Māori cultures. It’s a testament to what can be achieved when communities unite to honour and share their heritage.”

Event Coordinator of Pasifika Families Inc, Steven Norris, welcomed the funding from the City.

“We’re grateful to Council for its ongoing support,” Mr Norris said.

“Pasifika Vibes Festival celebrates the richness and uniqueness of Pacific Island and Māori cultures. It’s a testament to what can be achieved when communities unite to honour and share their heritage.”

In addition to the annual funding, Council will apply a 3% increase to the multi-year grant to acknowledge the rising operational costs of community organisations.

Pasifika Vibes Festival will return on the public holiday, Monday 4 May 2026. Visit the festival website for more details.
