Clean Up Australia Day

7 Mar 2027 | 12:00 AM

Join millions of Australians in making a positive impact on the environment by taking part in Clean Up Australia Day.

Each year, this national community event brings people together to remove litter from parks, beaches, waterways and neighbourhood streets, helping to create cleaner, healthier places for everyone to enjoy.

Whether you volunteer on your own, with family and friends, or as part of a community group, every piece of litter collected makes a difference. If there are no sites near you, you can register a location. Site registrations are for individuals, friends, families, faith-based groups, and local community groups.

Community groups, schools, early learning centres, and businesses can also create a clean-up event. When you register your clean-up event with Clean Up Australia, site supervisors will receive a free kit with all the essentials, such as bags, gloves, information, and promotional materials to help make their clean-up event a success.

Make a difference, every day

Reducing single-use plastics, disposing of waste responsibly and choosing reusable alternatives can all help prevent litter from entering the environment and harming local ecosystems. Together, we can create a cleaner, greener and more sustainable city for everyone to enjoy.
