Wyllie Park Camping Ground
Wyllie Park Camping Ground is a designated tent camping area (under the Camping on Public Land Local Law 2023) within Wyllie Park, Petrie. You must not camp outside the designated area. Wyllie Park facilities remain available to the public.
The site has toilets, waste bins, lighting and other public amenities. There is also CCTV and regular security patrols to support community safety.
Caravans, camper trailers, camper vans and motorhomes must not stay overnight. No fires or generators are allowed in the camping ground or the broader Wyllie Park area. No animals are allowed in the Wyllie Park Camping Ground other than guide, hearing or assistance animals.
Wyllie Park has been designated for a 12-month trial by Council for the use of people experiencing homelessness who are residing in tents. A total of 30 sites for no more than 60 people have been developed on the site.
Recognised support organisations, including government departments, who provide services and assist people into secure accommodation have ongoing access to visit campers at the site.

Keeping everyone safe
- Keep your site tidy and belongings within site boundary
- Keep paths clear
- Respect your neighbours and keep noise low
- Put rubbish in bags and bins provided
- Use sharps containers
- Use nearby toilets
- Keep electrical cords and hoses safe and within your site
- Respect trees and property
- Park in signed areas only
- No animals other than guide, hearing or assistance animals
- No fires or generators.
Length of stay
Campers may stay for 21 days at a time and a maximum of 42 days in any rolling 12-month period. Extension of stays will be at the discretion of Council.
Camping outside the designated area is illegal in accordance with the Camping on Public Land Local Law 2023.
Registration
Wyllie Park Camping Ground is now open for registration.
Registration is required before you use the camping ground. Tent sites will be allocated to campers who complete the registration process and accept the Camping Ground conditions.
Failure to begin camping at your allocated site within 24 hours of your booking start date may result in your booking being cancelled.
