Creative workshop with artist Lauren Edmonds

Next date: Wednesday, 13 January 2027 | 09:00 AM to 10:00 AM

Come and join Lauren Edmonds for a fun and creative workshop. This session is part of the Outdoor Gallery artist workshops series. It celebrates the launch of the Half a Million Imaginations exhibitions and Lauren's artwork at North Lakes Library.

The workshop will prompt participants to imagine themselves as a native bird in the suburbs. What is your bird personality? What does it wear? Is it loud, colourful, or quirky?

Using polymer clay, Lauren will guide you to create a new flock of bird magnets ready to adorn your fridge.

This is a great opportunity to reflect on the common and unique characteristics between us and our native birdlife.

About the facilitator

Lauren Edmonds is an artist based in Petrie. Their practice spans a wide range of media with a particular interest in animation.

Their work explores social and political issues, encouraging people to think and talk about media, activism, and life today.

Recently, they’ve focused on the shared feelings of worry and uncertainty in difficult times. While their work can be serious or reflective, it also includes touches of humour, hope, and resilience.
