Caboolture Regional Art Gallery

Drop in for insightful discussions about art and agriculture as we celebrate the final days of the Yield exhibition with artists talks from Kaya Barry and Joe Furlonger and a weaving circle with artist Libby Harward.

Yield exhibition | Yield is an exhibition that unearths our cultivated identity. Through artworks from local, national and internationally recognised artists, the exhibition digs deep into this country’s agricultural history. Branching off from the story of prominent local Dr Joseph Bancroft - leader in experimental agriculture and medicine – Yield considers the legacies of early agricultural practices and how we continue to be impacted by them today.

Creative space: To perceive is to yield | Do you sometimes hear a bird, pick a flower, or see a tree while driving down the highway? It can make you think of a friend, a loved one, a previous home or other histories in your life. As humans we exist within a network of multispecies relations. During your visit to the gallery, reflect on your ‘multispecies homes’ through creative activities designed by artist Fernando do Campo. You can contribute to a giant world map of animal and plant relations, and write a postcard to your favourite nature companions.

Drop in: Strawberry patch | Did you know that Moreton Bay is the largest strawberry producing area in Australia, with 1 in 4 punnets grown here? Create a strawberry with paper and make it unique with pens and decorations in this free drop-in activity.
