Summer Reading Club

Summer Reading Club is now open to all ages! It’s free to join and a fun way to encourage the whole family to spend more time reading over summer.   

Join Summer Reading Club at your library or online. Count the time you spend reading from 1 December - 31 January. Every 3 hours of reading can be entered into our prize draws.

All reading counts - online and offline! Library books, eBooks, books at home, graphic novels, comics, magazines, newspapers, audiobooks, written instructions, exhibition information, being read to, and Storytime sessions can all be counted.

Parents, make sure you count the time you spend reading to your child on their Summer Reading Club reading log as well as your own. Double your family’s chances of winning!

Prizes for participants aged 17 and under are drawn weekly from the first Friday of the December-January school holidays with two chances to win each week. You could WIN a $25 book voucher or a $50 book voucher in our final prize draw in the first week of February.

Prizes for participants aged 18+ are 12 $50 book vouchers and will be drawn in the first week of February.

Help your school win

When you join Summer Reading Club, tell us the name of your school or a school you’d like to support. If your school wins, they can display the Summer Reading Club trophy all year!

There are two chances for schools to win:

• One trophy for the school with the largest number of its school community joining Summer Reading Club
• One trophy for the school with the highest percentage of its school community joining Summer Reading Club (compared to enrolment numbers).

Adventure around the city

Go on an adventure to discover amazing exhibitions and intriguing history at Galleries and Museums in the City of Moreton Bay. Read the exhibition signs and count this towards your reading hours.
