The Summer Reading Club runs annually from 1 December to 31 January. Library members of all ages can record the time they spend reading for the chance to win great prizes!
It is free to join and a fun way to encourage the whole family to spend more time reading during the school holidays.
How to participate
Registrations open 1 December 2024. Once you have joined, you can start counting the time you spend reading until 31 January 2025.
Every three hours of reading can be entered into our prize draws.
All reading counts whether it is online or offline. Time spent reading library books, eBooks, books at home, graphic novels, comics, magazines, newspapers, audiobooks, written instructions, exhibition information, as well as being read to, and Storytime sessions can be counted.
Parents, double your chances of winning. Make sure you count the time you spend reading to your child on their Summer Reading Club passport as well as adding it to your reading log.

Tell us the name of your school when you join and the school with the highest percentage of participants will win a Summer Reading Club trophy.
