Mt Nebo and Mt Glorious Emergency Warning System
The Mt Nebo and Mt Glorious Emergency Warning System (EWS) is designed to provide timely advice to local residents about the threat of bushfire in the area.
Residents are advised to update their 'Bushfire Survival Plan' in line with the actions for each siren tone. Monitor local Fire Danger Ratings via roadside signage and Bureau of Meteorology notifications.

Warning Siren
The EWS bushfire sirens are located on Mt Nebo and Mt Glorious. The sirens are jointly operated by the Queensland Fire Department (QFD), Queensland Police Service, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Council.
There are three levels of activation. Siren tones indicating Prepare to leave, Leave/Evacuate immediately, and Too late/Dangerous to leave. The siren will be used by authorities to advise residents of dangerous fire conditions and fire warnings in the area. Watch and Act - Prepare to Leave
There is a heightened level of threat, and conditions are changing. Act now to protect yourself and your family.
Siren sounded every 3 hours as long as the threat remains.
Emergency Warning: Leave/Evacuate Immediately
You are in danger and need to take life-saving action immediately.
Siren sounded hourly, as long as the threat remains.
Emergency Warning: Too Late/Dangerous to Leave
You are in danger and need to take life-saving action immediately. Shelter in place.
Siren sounded every 15 minutes, as long as the threat remains.
Siren testing will continue to be conducted on the first Wednesday night of the month and periodically throughout the year.
MoretonAlert
Residents of Mt Nebo and Mt Glorious can subscribe to MoretonAlert to receive alerts about fire weather warnings and disaster events in the area via text and voice message or email.
Council will retransmit the first QFD bushfire warning for any incident to registered residents within the QFD warning polygon. An information message will be issued to the Mountain area if there is a bushfire incident anywhere in the area.

This number is related to the Emergency Alert service. If the call ID number or message header on your phone displays the number '+61 444 444 444', it is genuine.
Emergency Alert is the national telephone warning system used by emergency services to send voice messages to landlines and text messages to mobile phones within a defined area about potential emergencies.
Do not wait for an official warning. You should always be aware of what is happening in your area, as you could find yourself suddenly in danger. It is important you do not rely solely on receiving an official message. Act decisively the moment you know there is danger.
