- Previous results have had a tangible impact, helping reshape Council’s disaster communications
- City of Moreton Bay is committed to listening to and supporting our community as we grow
City of Moreton Bay is calling on residents to have their say with Council’s city-wide Moreton Says survey open from now until 29 March.
City of Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery encouraged people to get involved, to help Council better understand and keep track of what matters most to our community.
“We want to know your thoughts on liveability and lifestyle, local jobs and business support, disaster preparedness, sport and recreation, and your experience with Council,” Mayor Flannery said.
“Your feedback is crucial in helping us make better decisions for the whole community; it’s another way we listen, and this helps us improve how we work.
“The previous surveys have highlighted improvements to how we communicate disaster preparedness, with residents saying they are willing to prepare but not always sure how.
“Council has been able to refine how we communicate this important information to support community disaster readiness.
“City of Moreton Bay's Disaster Management team have used vital Moreton Says data to rethink how they communicate hazard risks and household preparedness tools.
“These messages are vital, with more than 30% of survey participants telling us they accessed information on natural hazard risk before moving to City of Moreton Bay.
“Understanding how residents feel has helped Council move towards more interactive engagement opportunities that show people what preparedness actually looks like.
“Helping people feel more confident in preparing for severe weather or a disaster event is a gap we have directly addressing with clearer guidance and simpler tools.”
Since Moreton Says launched in 2021, City of Moreton Bay has collected more than 30,000 survey responses, helping Council make decisions and achieve better outcomes for residents.
The next round of Moreton Says is now open. You can complete the survey here and go in the draw to win 1 of 20 Moreton Money gift cards valued at $100 each.
