Led by artist and urban designer Maia Cavendish, this hands-on workshop series introduces the basics of wheat pasting.

Wheat pasting is a fast and expressive form of street art. It's easy to share and made to be seen in public spaces.

Across 3 workshops, participants will explore collage, design, and urban art-making. You'll create bold artworks and install them on the wall at Burpengary Sports Complex.

This program offers a safe and positive space for young people to share ideas, build skills, and express creativity.

Participants under 18 years must be accompanied by a guardian.

Workshop 1

In the first workshop, participants will learn how to design artwork for wheat pasting. Maia will guide the group through collage and hands-on design activities.

You'll explore how art can respond to public space. You'll also experiment with shapes, images, and textures.

This season is all about ideas and play. No experience needed, just your curiosity and creativity.

Workshop 1 will take place on Sunday, 8 March.

Workshop 2

In the second workshop, participants will learn how to scale up their designs. You'll explore print-based techniques and ways to make artwork stand out.

Maia will share tips for creating bold, eye-catching work for public spaces. Together, the group will begin co-designing final artworks.

This workshop focuses on impact, teamwork, and confidence. Your ideas will start to take shape at a larger scale.

Workshop 2 will take place on Sunday, 15 March.

Workshop 3

The final workshop brings everything together. Participants will finish their artworks and prepare them for installation.

With Maia's guidance, the group will install their work using wheat paste.

This is your chance to see your ideas come to life in a real public space.

So come along, step out of your comfort zone and work alongside other curious artists!

Workshop 3 will take place on Wednesday, 1 April.
