to 07:30 PM
Experience a lively pop-up music show at Strathpine Library.
Featuring global sounds, professional musicians and a hands-on kazoo workshop, there is something for everyone.
This pop-up is a fun and creative way to explore music and connect with your community.
The event features 3 performers.
Iranian-born artist and musician Naz Masoudi will present an engaging solo inspired by her culture.
Shugorei will play the People’s Marimba, showcasing the unique sound of this instrument. After the performance, you can come and try the instrument yourself.
The pop-up also includes a kazoo workshop with Danslands. He will teach you a simple medley of Bee Gees songs. Workshop participants are encouraged to bring their own kazoo. There will be several free kazoos available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Put your new skills into practise and join us on 21 June for a public flash mob. Performing with your kazoo at Bee Gees way, this high‑energy event will turn the laneway into a vibrant pop‑up stage.
About the performers
Danslands
Danny Smith is a performer, music educator (Danslands) and open mic producer. He believes in making music an accessible avenue for everyone.
Whether it's through hosting open mics to help new artists build confidence or guiding beginner musicians through the recording process, Danny is committed to creating a space where musicians are encouraged to believe and grow their abilities.
He believes that movement, rhythm, and patterns are fundamental in the early years. And that music provides a great vehicle to teach these core skills in a fun and engaging way.
