Petrie School of Arts is a beautiful heritage-listed building located in the heart of Petrie. It is conveniently located close to shops and public transport (including the Petrie train station) as well as next to Petrie Place Park, which also features a playground. 

The hall is 15.1 metres x 8.5 metres with an 8.5 metre x 3 metre stage and has free parking beside the hall including an accessible parking bay. 

This venue is a self-service model; all hirers are responsible for set up / pack down and cleaning of the venue before the conclusion of hire.

Capacity

The hall has a capacity of 70 people.

Accessibility

Petrie School of Arts has ramp access from the main car park to the main entry and an allocated accessible parking bay. An accessible toilet is located in the hall.

Please inspect the venue prior to booking to ensure the facility meets your accessibility requirements. 

Bookings

Petrie School of Arts is managed by Encircle Pty Ltd on behalf of Council. The hall is available to hire between 7:00 AM and 12:00 AM (midnight).

  • stove with cooktop

Note: No cooking utensils, pots, pans, serving equipment, dishwashing liquid, washcloths or tea towels are provided. 

Fees and charges

Contact the Hall Management committee for details of fees and charges. 

Hourly and daily rates are available with discounts for not-for-profit organisations. Casual rates start at $30.00 per hour, $14.00 per hour for not-for-profit and $300.00 per day.

Some events and high risk activities (i.e. parties where alcohol is served) will require payment of a refundable bond. In some instances, security may also be required as a condition of the booking. 

Restrictions on hire

  • Hirers are not permitted to sleep in the venue overnight.
  • Equipment may be left in the venue if the hirer has a booking for the following day, or by arrangement with Hall Management.
  • Smoking is not permitted in, or within 5 metres of, Council venues, except for designated smoking areas.
  • The use of open flames including but not limited to candles, lanterns or smoke machine is prohibited.
  • Decorative items such as glitter, rice, rose petals, sand or confetti is not permitted.
  • Decorations must not be affixed in any way that may cause damage; this includes, but is not limited to sticky tape, pins or tacks.
  • Animals with the exception of assistance animals, are not permitted in council venues without Council approval.

Venue inspections

Hall management provide prospective hirers the opportunity to view the hall prior to booking. Inspections are by appointment only and depend on the availability of the venue.
