Street art skills workshop

Join us at the North Lakes Community Centre to celebrate Queensland Youth Week with our back-to-back street art workshops.

About the workshops

Learn new skills and hear from experienced artists Oscar Galeano and Maia Cavendish during the April school holidays. Each artist will talk about their practices and how they express themselves through public art. 

They will then run a 60‑minute hands‑on workshop at the same time. Participants will swap and take part in both workshops back-to-back. Oscar will take you through the basics of calligraffiti and with Maia, you'll explore the basics of wheat-pasting.

There will be other people in the workshop, so expect a fun, creative atmosphere with plenty of chatting. You’ll get the chance to try different street art techniques and create artwork together.

There are quiet spaces if you need a sensory break.

The community centre is wheelchair-friendly, with lift access from the underground car park.

All materials and light snacks will be provided.
