Creative workshops with First Nations mural artists
Next date: Friday, 27 March 2026 | 10:30 AM
to 12:00 PM
Ever wanted to make art with a professional muralist? Now’s your chance!
As a part of City of Moreton Bay’s Art At Large program, we’ve commissioned 3 First Nations artists to unleash their creativity on our sidewalks. These artists will have their own dedicated space to create footpath murals at one of our three museums.
Before our museums get a fresh burst of creativity, you’re invited to meet the artists shaping it, share stories and get hands-on with a fun creative activity.
These free creative workshops are packed with culture, colour and conversation. You'll hear about the artist’s creative journey and take part in a fun, hands-on art activity. There will also be time to share your own stories and memories that contribute to the sense of place these artworks celebrate.

Redcliffe Museum
At Redcliffe Museum, join Gunggari artist DESIRAI (Desirai Saunders) for a relaxed and beginner friendly drawing workshop exploring the art of self portraiture.
In this guided session, you’ll learn simple techniques for drawing the human face, including how to break features down into shapes, understand proportions, and use shading to bring your portrait to life.
Everyone is welcome, bring your friends, family, and your imagination for a morning of creative fun. No art experience needed!
Ready to get creative? Secure your free spot and experience public art before it hits the footpath.
