South Pine River shared pathway connection, Albany Creek

City of Moreton Bay is investing in safe, efficient, reliable and integrated transport networks. These projects support a healthy and active lifestyle for residents. 

The parklands and reserves next to the South Pine River provide an opportunity for active travel. They will connect the local community with schools, shops and other facilities on the eastern side of South Pine Road in Albany Creek. 

Key features

The project aims to provide a safer and more attractive pathway network, encouraging more active trips in the area. The project includes:

  • new pathways
  • providing 2 to 2.5 metre wide pathway from Faheys Road West to James Cash Court via Stanton Reserve
  • landscaping
  • new lighting in Stanton Reserve.

Project delivery

The project will be delivered in 3 stages, subject to budget, weather conditions, and contractor availability. 

  • Stage 1 includes a new concrete pathway along the eastern side of Kingfisher Street and Barwing Court. It will run from Faheys Road West to Stanton Reserve. 
  • Stage 2 will see improvements to existing pathways, including a new ramp up to South Pine Road. 
  • Stage 3 involves improvements to the existing pathway along the southern side of James Cash Court. A connection to the Albany Creek Road roundabout will also be added.
