Moreton Bay Region sails away at regional tourism awards

Sails Restaurant and Function Centre at Redcliffe received back-to-back honours at the 2011 Moreton Bay and Islands Tourism Awards.

Mayor Allan Sutherland said the Moreton Bay Region restaurant had taken out the top honour for the second year in a row.

Judges' Gold Award winner Sails Restaurant & Function Centre was voted the best tourism experience in the Moreton Bay and Islands Tourism Awards for 2011," Mayor Sutherland said.

The Moreton Bay and Islands Tourism Awards are administered by the Moreton Bay Task Force, which represents the Brisbane City Council, Redland City Council, and Moreton Bay Regional Council.
 
Mayor Sutherland said the awards were held last night at Morgan’s Sunset Blue Function Centre.

“I am so pleased the Moreton Bay Region has played host to this year’s sold-out event,” Mayor Sutherland said.

“Taking out nine of the possible fourteen award categories - is more proof that “We’ve Got it All” in the Moreton Bay Region.”
