Did you know stingrays have been gliding through our oceans since before the dinosaurs? These amazing sea creatures first appeared over 150 years ago. You can still spot them gliding through Moreton Bay Marine Park today!

Join local marine expert Dr Ian Tibbetts for a fun and fascinating workshop all about stingrays. You’ll learn how they swim, what they eat, and why they’re such an important part of our ocean life. Ian will share stories and facts about the stingrays that live right here in our region.

This workshop is part of World Fisheries Week, a time to celebrate our oceans and the creatures that keep them healthy. You’ll discover how protecting marine life, like stingrays, helps us look after the ocean and support sustainable fishing for the future.

It’s a great day out for ocean lovers and anyone curious about the sea. Come along, ask questions, and see these fascinating creatures in a whole new light. Let’s dive in and learn how we can all play a part in caring for our coast and its amazing marine life.
