Somerset Trail Adventure (5165)

Experience the magic of hiking in the Australian bush with an experienced local guide. Starting at the Gantry day use area, this 14km track winds through open forest to the best viewpoint in D’Aguilar Park.

You will notice a mix of environments including scribbly gums, heath and rainforest on the journey to the lookout and be treated to the picturesque views of Somerset Dam, Lake Wivenhoe and the endless stretches of horizon to the west. This 3.5- to 4-hour hike requires a moderate to high level of fitness.

Note: Wear comfortable active wear, sandshoes and a hat. Bring 2L of water, sunscreen, insect repellent, snacks and a sense of adventure.

By making a booking, or choosing to participate, in a City of Moreton Bay activity, you acknowledge and agree to the Program participant terms and conditions.

Subject to the participants’ consent, Council may take photographs / videos at this event for promotional purposes.  If this event is selected for photography / videography, Council (or the event manager) will notify you and provide you with a Consent Form to complete and return to Council (or the event manager) either before or at the event.  There will also be hard copy Consent Forms available to complete at the event, if needed.  If you wish to participate in the event but do not consent to having your photograph / video taken, please advise the Council officer/s at the event or contact Council on healthyactive@moretonbay.qld.gov.au.
