Turning up the fun on free community events

• City of Moreton Bay is launching a refreshed events program for 2026
• 16 free events planned to 30 June, with more to be announced
• An event support service will also be established to support organisations hold community events

City of Moreton Bay has announced a refreshed lineup of free events across the City for 2026.

Mayor Peter Flannery said Council’s diverse range of fun-filled events encourage the community to get outside and connect with others. 

“The event lineup for 2026 is one of our best yet,” Mayor Flannery said.

“Our community events are a well-established part of life in Moreton Bay and one of the reasons our City is so vibrant.

“Having these amazing free events in our neighbourhoods, means locals can connect with family and friends, and create memories close to home, without breaking the bank.

“This year, favourite community events are returning better than ever, from PrideFest, Hills Carnivale and Moreton Bay Kids Fest.

Plus, we’re introducing some new events - Grooving in the Green and Taste the Bay events that will roll out across some of our suburbs.” 

Two contractors have been appointed to deliver a packed schedule of community events, for City of Moreton Bay through until 30 June 2029, with an option to extend for a further three years to lead into the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The rigorous tender process has resulted in Tourism and Events Moreton Bay deliver 13 signature events each year, and a community event support service providing advice, resources and tools to assist external event organisers host even more community events in City of Moreton Bay.

Mask Events will deliver up to 24 divisional events each year across the city.

• Sips & Sounds Warner | 8 February
• Moreton Bay Lunar New Year | 14 February
• Drive–In Movie in the Park Narangba | 20 February
• PrideFest, Strathpine | 18 April
• Hills Carnivale | 30 May
• Moreton Bay Kids Fest | 14 June

Events delivered by Mask Events from April – June 2026:

• Grooving in the Green, Music & Art series in Mango Hill, Moreton Bay Central, Dayboro and Woody Point
• Taste the Bay, Food & Beverage series in Newport, Albany Creek, Bribie Island
• Cruisin’ Caboolture
