If Brisbane’s snap lockdown has forced your Easter plans to change, the easiest place to plan a holiday closer to home is Moreton Bay Region.

Mayor Peter Flannery said Moreton Bay is just minutes away and the whole region is good to go!

“Don’t spend your holidays stuck in highway traffic, get off the Bruce and head to our hinterland for a scenic drive or relax along our iconic coastline without having to worry about crowds,” he said.

“I promise there’s nowhere in South East Queensland you’ll receive warmer hospitality these holidays.

“After having to cancel our massively popular Festival of Sails event, local businesses are stocked and ready to indulge your every whim.

“And if seafood’s what you’re craving this Easter, why on earth would you drive past the home of the Moreton Bay bug?

“All you need to bring is a face mask and abide by social distancing rules, we’ll do the rest!

“Our caravan parks have reopened, Settlement Cove Lagoon in Redcliffe is open, our parks are open and we’ll be reopening Council pools from Saturday.

“We’ve also reopened major venues like the Morayfield Sports & Events Centre and the Queensland State Equestrian Centre.

“I want to thank everyone who abided by lockdown restrictions and went to get tested, your efforts have enabled this Easter to get back on track.

“But local businesses still need your support, so please get out of your homes and make the most of this lockdown-free holiday period.”
