Creative workshop with artist Tamika Grant-Iramu

Next date: Wednesday, 14 January 2026 | 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM

White outlines of folage and leaves sketched into a black background. Some leaves have yellow, blue and orange colours.

Tamika is being commissioned to create new artwork for City of Moreton Bay’s Outdoor Gallery at North Lakes Library.

In this workshop, Tamika invites you to bring flora (flowers, leaves, bark) from your favourite local green spaces and share the stories behind them.

Participants will explore the organic patterns and forms seen in local plant life that surrounds the North Lakes Library.

You will create mixed media artworks where you reimagine the local landscape in black and white through rubbing (frottage), collage and drawing.

This is an opportunity to inspire your creativity and foster connection.

What to bring:

  • A piece of found flora from a greenspace that is important to you. Flora includes flowers, leaves, and bark. Older or dead plants will provide better results for this creative activity.
  • These pieces of flora will be used to make rubbings (frottage) to create textures and patterns.
