Creative workshop with artist Lana de Jager
Next date: Friday, 16 January 2026 | 10:00 AM
to 11:30 AM
Lana is being commissioned to create new artwork for City of Moreton Bay’s Outdoor Gallery at Redcliffe Library.
Join Lana at this hands-on creative workshop inspired by printmaking and artist books. Participants will think about the unique and special places in Redcliffe that evoke a feeling of contentment and safety. We encourage you to bring a photo (printed or on your phone) of your favourite place.
They will use these feelings as inspiration to create their own motifs. The motifs will then be used to create a shared artist book that reflects themes from their stories and experiences.
About the facilitator
Lana de Jager is an intaglio printmaker with 25 years of experience. She is based in Samford Valley. Her work explores powerful themes like women’s mental health, femininity, and cultural pressures.
Lana’s prints combine realistic and surreal styles with motifs. These are presented at curious scales, prompting questions and discussion. She is interested in pushing the boundaries of traditional printmaking.
