Council is planning on conducting road rehabilitation works on William Berry Drive, Morayfield. These works aim to improve traffic operations and safety for road users, including motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.
Overview of improvements
Key improvements will involve:
- the full reconstruction of approximately 220 metres of the existing road pavement
- removing the existing asphalt surface and underlying pavement
- the placement of a new higher-strength pavement and asphalt surface
- upgrades to the existing stormwater inlet pits.
Schedule of works
The works are expected to be undertaken in stages. The first stage is planned to start in February and will take four to six weeks to complete. The first stage will occur along William Berry Drive and includes the roundabout that intersects with the underpass connection to Visentin Road and the Morayfield Shopping Centre car park entry. The works extend about 50 metres to the north from the roundabout and 170 metres to the south.
Most of the work will occur at night from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. This will reduce traffic disruptions and improve the safety of workers on-site, ensuring works are completed as efficiently as possible. Some of the work to the south of the roundabout will be carried out during the day. Council will inform the community about future stages before works commence.
