Creative workshop with artist Lauren Edmonds
Next date: Wednesday, 14 January 2026 | 02:00 PM
to 03:30 PM
Lauren is being commissioned to create new artwork for City of Moreton Bay’s Outdoor Gallery at North Lakes Library.
Lauren will facilitate a fun and imaginative workshop that prompts participants to imagine themselves as a native bird in the suburbs.
What is your bird personality? What does it wear? Is it loud, is it colourful, does it have a quirky personality?
Using polymer clay, Lauren will guide you to create a new flock of bird magnets ready to adorn your fridge. This is a great opportunity to think about the common and unique characteristics between ourselves and our native birdlife.
About the facilitator
Lauren Edmonds is an artist based in Petrie. Their practice spans a wide range of media with a particular interest in animation.
Their work explores social and political issues, encouraging people to think and talk about media, activism, and life today.
Recently, they’ve focused on the shared feelings of worry and uncertainty in difficult times. While their work can be serious or reflective, it also includes touches of humour, hope, and resilience.
Accessibility
This venue has wheelchair access. Other participants will be present at the workshop and may be talking to each other. The venue has quieter areas for sensory breaks if required. For more information, email Cultural.Activation@moretonbay.qld.gov.au.
