Next date: Thursday, 02 October 2025 | 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM

Get ready for a bat-tastic day out these school holidays! This free family event is packed with fun, laughter, and learning for kids of all ages. From games and crafts to guided walks, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Kids can get creative with hands-on craft activities. Start your day with crafty fun, making, painting, and creating bat-themed treasures to take home. Then, dive into exciting games that will have you swooping, flapping, and laughing right along with your friends. It’s the perfect chance to play, explore, and let your imagination fly!

But it’s not just about learning, it’s about fun too! Families can explore, laugh, and enjoy a big day out together. Bring a picnic, pack your curiosity, and spend the day surrounded by nature.

Guided walks

Join Moreton Bay's very own flying fox expert for a guided walk and step into the secret world of bats. Find out why they’re called “nocturnal gardeners,” what tasty treats they love to snack on, and how they keep our forests alive and thriving. You might even spot them in their favourite trees!

Our guided walks run between:

  • 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
  • 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM

The event runs all day, so there’s plenty of time to drop in and join the adventure. Don’t miss your chance to go batty these school holidays!
