Street Art Lab is a public art initiative designed for young people in the City of Moreton Bay. This event is an exciting opportunity to learn street art skills and contribute to the local community.

Participants will take part in a series of free creative workshops led by experienced artists. They will explore various techniques and co-design a mural that they’ll help paint alongside their artist mentor.

This pilot program empowers young people to shape the visual identity of the places they live, work, and play.

Each round features three workshops, followed by a mural painting day. To take part in the final mural, participants must attend at least two of the three workshops.

Everything participants need will be provided on the day.

Workshop location and dates

  • Workshop round one: October 2025 at Burpengary Community Hall.
  • Workshop round two: April and May 2026 at Burpengary Community Hall.

Workshop round one

Round one will feature three workshops led by experienced muralist Jordan Bruce. Participants will learn the basics of aerosol painting, key techniques, and explore colour and form. They'll learn to create original artwork in a supportive and creative environment.

It's a great opportunity for young people to express themselves and connect with a vibrant art form rooted in street culture. The collaborative mural will be in place for 6 months. Season one of Street Art Lab is for young people aged 13 to 18.
