Managing your food business licence

Licences are valid for 12 months from 1 October until 30 September each year and are renewed annually. Temporary food licences may also be renewed annually or issued for a single event, for example a fete or market.

Licence fees

The following fees are applicable for food licences:

  • Application fee - Applicable on application for a licence, or an amendment of a licence.
  • Annual fee - Applicable prior to issue of the licence, and annually thereafter. A renewal notice and invoice will be issued each year prior to expiry of the licence.
  • Food Safety Program - Additional fees may apply for businesses which are required to hold a Food Safety Program. Refer to Food Safety Programs for further information.

Fees are outlined in Council’s Fees and Charges.

Some fee exemptions may apply for not-for-profit organisations.
