Council's Code of Conduct

Council’s Code of Conduct applies to all Council workers. This includes contractors, agency staff and volunteers.

It outlines the expected behaviour of workers. This includes in the workplace and during work-related duties or events. It also covers any actions that could affect Council’s reputation. The code helps guide decision-making and conduct.

Council workers must uphold the Code's core principles. These include:

  • acting honestly and without bias in all decisions and dealings
  • serving the best interests of the community
  • respecting democratic processes and the law
  • taking responsibility for actions and ensuring decisions are open and justifiable.

These principles are supported by our core values: Respect, Service, Integrity, Teamwork, and Sustainability.

Maintaining high standards of conduct ensures the community’s trust in Council. Download the Code of Conduct(PDF, 552KB).
