Council is upgrading O’Mara Road, Narangba, between Stone Ridge Boulevard and Oakey Flat Road. We’re working to improve road safety, capacity and flood immunity.
Key features
The project works include:
- road widening from Stone Ridge Boulevard to Oakey Flat Road
- installation of speed platforms at several intersections
- upgrading the existing footpath on the western side of O’Mara Road
- extension of the existing shared pathway from Stone Ridge Boulevard to a new pedestrian and cyclist crossing near O’Mara Road
- implementation of a separated right-turn lane on O’Mara Road at the intersection with Oakey Flat Road
- planting extra trees to shade the footpath.
Construction for this project is expected to begin within the 2025/26 financial year. Council will notify nearby residents of work hours and travel impacts. This will occur when the construction start date is known.
Funding
Funding for the upgrade comes from City of Moreton Bay and the Australian Government via the Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program.
