MoretonAlert - Frequently asked questions

Questions

Who can register?

Residents of Moreton Bay region can register to receive these free alerts. One registration per household should be sufficient.

Back to question  ⤴

Can I register more than one property?

The system allows only one property to be registered for each email address. Contact Council if you need to register more than one property.

Back to question  ⤴

The system says my email address already exists

If the system says your email address already exists, check with other family members who may have registered.

Back to question  ⤴

I've forgotten my password

Use the forgotten password link to reset your password.

Back to question  ⤴

I can't find my property

Narrow your search by providing a street number range and try again. If your property has a lot number, rather than a street number - enter the suburb and street name and check the "No street number" check box. If you live in a unit or townhouse, use either a number range or check "No street number" to register your address.

Back to question  ⤴

When will I receive alerts?

Messages may be sent at any time of the day or night.

If you are overseas and your phone has international roaming, you will continue to receive alerts.

Alerts are location and risk based. You should only receive an alert if the residential address you have registered may be impacted.

Every reasonable effort will be made to provide alerts to registered users at the earliest opportunity. Telecommunications networks may experience delays in delivery.

Back to question  ⤴

I don't have a phone or internet access

If you don't have a phone or internet access to receive alerts, monitor your own surroundings, listen to the media, particularly ABC local radio, 99.7fm and 101.5fm for information and stay in contact with neighbours.

Back to question  ⤴

How do I unsubscribe?

You can unsubscribe at any stage via your My Moreton Bay profile. Alternatively, you can email MoretonAlert@moretonbay.qld.gov.au or contact Council

Back to question  ⤴

I have an answering machine
