As part of the City of Moreton Bay's Accessible Beaches Initiative, accessible beach mats have been installed near the Suttons Beach Rotunda. These mats provide an accessible and stable pathway over the sand. This enables everyone to access and enjoy a day out at Suttons Beach.
The permanently installed beach mat provides an accessible and stable walkway onto the beach all year round. It has been shown to significantly improve access onto the beach for users of mobility devices, for example wheelchairs, mobility scooters, walking frames, people with chronic health conditions such as arthritis, seniors, and families pushing prams or beach carts. The mats are installed adjacent to the seawall, away from the water's edge to ensure it wont be damaged by high tides.
