Sorry kids the Moreton Bay Kids’ Fest on May 22 is sold out!
This popular local event has been a sell-out sensation with all 10,000 tickets sold weeks before the event.
Mayor Peter Flannery said this came hot on the heels of a record crowd at Festival of Sails over Easter.
“Clearly 2022 is going to be a massive party in Moreton Bay and nothing makes us happier than seeing events bounce back to their pre-pandemic popularity levels,” he said.
“Seeing locals and visitors get out and about after lockdown restrictions makes things feel normal again, but the real relief is not having to do the dreaded home-schooling anymore!
Events aren’t just massive economic boosters, they’re an important investment in our community’s vibrancy and I for one want to see a lot more happening here.
I’m proud to lead a Council that’s so committed to providing great, local community events. That’s why we are also enthusiastic supporters of the ‘Anywhere Festival’ - taking entertainment out of the theatre and into a suburb near you.”
Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism CEO, Shane Newcombe, said “Moreton Bay really knows how to put on a show.
We’ve seen firsthand this popular event grow each year so it’s no surprise that it has sold out with such a great line up of hot wheels stunt action, magic shows, dance shows and unlimited rides included in the ticket price.”
“Our next flagship event is Redcliffe KiteFest on 17th and 18th September 2022, so make sure you get those tickets early!
This is bound to be another sell-out event after two years of uncertainty in our region’s events and tourism sector. I thank local families from the bottom of my heart for coming back so quickly to make these amazing days such an incredible success.
In 2019, before anyone ever heard the word ‘Covid’ tourism and events were a billion-dollar industry for our region, I sincerely hope we’ll get there again soon.”
Cr Matt Constance (Div 10) was quick to remind local families that ‘Kids’ Fest’ in Pine Rivers Park isn’t the only show in town.
“If you missed tickets to the Kids’ Fest, don’t despair, there is a FREE Kids Carnivale on Sunday 8 May 1:30pm-4pm at Arana Hills Library.
Part of our annual Hills Festival, this is a great low-cost event with free entry and many free activities for the whole family to enjoy, including face painting, big block building, wildlife experiences and kids craft”
Cr Constance said.
“Or treat Mum to a day out at Mother’s Day Music in the Park, at George Wilmore Park on Sunday 8 May for an afternoon of live entertainment, market stalls, children’s activities – everything mum needs to celebrate her special day.”
