Bowls Premier League

The Bowls Premier League (BPL) is back at Club Pine Rivers for the sport’s made-for-television, showpiece event from 23-27th of May, thanks to funding from Moreton Bay Regional Council.

Mayor Peter Flannery said Moreton Bay Council was delighted to support the Bowls Premier League for the next three years at Club Pine Rivers.

“The BPL is the Twenty20 of bowls – it’s fast and furious, attracting the world’s best bowlers, and letting non-bowlers see bowls in whole new light.

Ten teams from across Australia will be competing over the 5 days with day sessions starting at 9am and nightly sessions from 4pm.

“The event’s diehard fans will come from all over Australia, to watch the action at our local Club Pine Rivers.

Ten teams from Adelaide, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne (2), Moama, Perth, Sydney, Tasmania and Tweed Heads will play each other twice over 18 rounds during the competition. At the end of the 18 qualifying rounds, the top five teams will play off in Friday night’s finals series.

“This popular national event is estimated to inject over $300,000 into the local economy so thanks to all those who plan to visit the region and support our local businesses.”
