Somerset Trail Adventure (8358)

Come and experience the magic of hiking in the Australian bush. The trail is located in the Mt Mee section of D’Aguilar National Park only an hour away form the Hills District. Your adventure commences at the Gantry day use area and winds through open forest to the best viewpoint in D’Aguilar Park. You will experience a mix of environments including scribbly gums, heath, rainforest as we head towards the lookout. From this spot you will be treated to great views of Somerset Dam, Lake Wivenhoe and the endless stretches of horizon to the west. The trail is a loop consisting of approximately 14kms and should take approximately 3.5 to 4 hours. A moderate to high level of fitness is required for this hike. All genders and kids from 13yrs+.

Note: Participants 18 years and under require adult supervision for the duration of the activity. Wear comfortable clothing, suitable footwear and a hat. Bring your own pack with water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent and a snack.

By making a booking, or choosing to participate, in a City of Moreton Bay Recreation Program activity, you acknowledge and agree to the Program participant terms and conditions.

Subject to the participants’ consent, Council may take photographs / videos at this event for promotional purposes.  If this event is selected for photography / videography, Council (or the event manager) will notify you and provide you with a Consent Form to complete and return to Council (or the event manager) either before or at the event.  There will also be hard copy Consent Forms available to complete at the event, if needed.  If you wish to participate in the event but do not consent to having your photograph / video taken, please advise the Council officer/s at the event or contact Council on healthyactive@moretonbay.qld.gov.au.
