Talking about Platypus

18 Sep 2025 | 07:00 PM - 09:00 PM

Platypus
Platypuses are unique. The platypus is the world's only remaining monotreme egg-laying mammal. The semi-aquatic predator is a keystone species in freshwater ecosystems, helping to control populations of macro-invertebrates such as insect larvae, shrimp, and yabbies.

A healthy platypus population is an indicator of healthy river systems.

Neil Andison is an avid naturalist and conservationist. Neil is known as the Platypus Whisperer and has chosen to focus on the Platypus as a key species for his study, his business and, by association, his life.
