The Moreton Bay Region has many scenic locations open to the public for event hosting. Celebrate a birthday, host a wedding, organise a school carnival or hold a festival at one of the many parks, beaches and outdoor spaces from around our beautiful region.
Council regulates these events to make sure they are carried out safely and are considerate of other residents and visitors.
Depending on the type of event you are holding, the impact on public land and who will be attending, you may need a permit. Find out more about which permit you will need for your event:
To hold an event or activity in a Council park or public land, you will need to apply for a permit. A Public place activity permit covers events like private birthday parties, cake stalls and information booths.
Your event is a public entertainment event when it is open to the general public and the primary purpose of the event is entertainment. These events include concerts, markets and circuses. Apply for an Operation of a temporary entertainment event permit.
If you would like to hold a wedding ceremony at one of Council's parks, you will need to apply for a permit.
Council has several state-of-the-art sporting fields that cater for a variety of sports. Schools can use these for sporting events and activities.
Events on private land may require a permit under Council's local law.
