City of Moreton Bay supports healthy and active lifestyles. We do this by investing in safe, efficient, and reliable integrated transport networks. This project aligns with that goal by improving cyclist and pedestrian access to Centenary Lakes and surrounding areas.
This upgrade forms the second stage of the Centenary Lakes Activation program. It is proudly funded through the SEQ Liveability Fund.
What this upgrade means for you
This upgrade will make it safer and easier to walk or cycle along Elliot Street, to and between Centenary Lakes and nearby areas, as well as:
- create a more attractive streetscape
- slow vehicle speeds
- reduce through traffic
- improve road safety for all.
Key features
The project involves road works along Elliot Street, Caboolture, and the construction of:
- a continuous pathway along the southern side of Elliot Street
- a raised pedestrian crossing on Elliot Street
- an additional signalised pedestrian crossing across the Morayfield Road intersection
- traffic calming devices in the form of raised platforms on Elliot Street.
We will also be reprioritising the shopping centre intersection.
