Settlement Cove Lagoon (Redcliffe Lagoon) is a stunning tropical-themed seafront public pool located on the Redcliffe Peninsula. Surrounded by palms and fig trees, the swimming lagoon, wading pools, and local area is a popular spot for families in summer.

Young children will enjoy the fenced-off water park with mushroom fountains, and a nearby playground with swings and a slide. Settlement Cove is a great picnic spot, with barbeque areas, picnic shelters, and plenty of shade.

Bikeways link the lagoon to Redcliffe Pier and Southern Redcliffe Point.

Pool specifications

The man-made lagoon is salt water with chlorine. It is 95-metres long with gradual depth entry reaching 1.8-metres deep.

Accessibility

The lagoon has a wheelchair-friendly ramp, providing easy access. A pool wheelchair is available for use. Ask the lifeguards on duty for more details.

There is plenty of space around the lagoon to manoeuvre mobility devices.

The accessible toilets have showers and an open change area.

Disability parking is available near the Redcliffe Peninsula Surf Life Saving Club. A wide footpath leads from the carpark to the lagoon.

Bookings and large groups

Bookings are not available, as this is an open public facility.

Larger groups should ensure there will be enough lifeguards available by contacting Council.

Lifeguard operational periods

Lifeguards only operate at certain times:

  • 1 September to 30 April: Monday to Sunday, 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • 1 May to 30 May: Weekends and public holidays only, 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • 1 August to 31 August: Weekend and public holidays only, 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

There are no lifeguards on duty from 1 June to 31 July.

Children under 13 years must always have adult supervision. Children under 5 years and non-swimmers must be within arm’s reach.

Where to park

Parking options near Settlement Cove Lagoon are convenient and accessible. You can find parking along Redcliffe and Marine Parade.

There is a car park off the roundabout at the intersection of Redcliffe Parade and Anzac Avenue, near the Redcliffe Peninsula Surf Life Saving Club.

Conditions of use

  • Settlement Cove Lagoon is an alcohol and smoke-free facility.
  • Glass bottles or containers are not allowed.
  • No dogs allowed in the lagoon area.
  • You can walk dogs on leads only via the walking path on the foreshore.
  • Certified service animals can access all areas, except the water body.
  • No remote-controlled model vessels on the lagoon.
  • Portable LPG gas cylinders are not permitted.
  • Portable barbeques of any type, for example gas, charcoal, or butane, are not permitted.
