Stand Up - Effective Anti-Bully Skills

This is a workshop and role play session that helps demystify and solve bullying.

This class teaches how to identify and shut down bullying using tried and proven methodology. Solutions to bullying do not need to be violent and do not need to be difficult to learn. You don’t even need to be aggressive. We use simple communication methods that match the specific bully behaviours. We call it what it is and when bullying behaviours are correctly labelled it makes dealing with them simple and effective. ‘Stand Up’ uses 7 proven strategies to stop bullies in their tracks. You will also learn how to correctly record and report bullying and properly report physical violence and assault. These skills will stay with you for life and work for exactly the same for in-person and online threats. Even for otherwise timid people, once you recognise the behaviours and apply the strategies, your confidence will grow. There is no physical contact in this session, however, the more you participate the more effective the skills and knowledge transfer.

Note: If required, parent/guardians may attend, and stay within earshot of the sessions, so long as the participant is comfortable and able to speak freely. Wear enclosed shoes and suitable clothing. Bring your own towel and water bottle.
