Community campaigns

Recognise and Reach Out

On Wednesday 25 November 2020 Moreton Bay Regional Council launched its domestic and family violence and abuse prevention campaign - Recognise and Reach Out. The issue of domestic and family violence and abuse (DFV) is increasing in our communities and Council recognises that it has a part to play in helping to eliminate DFV from our society.

The campaign was developed in collaboration with the Moreton Bay Domestic and Family Violence Network, comprising organisations providing services for people experiencing or using abuse across the region.

This will be a long-term campaign and will include events and initiatives during Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month in May and the 16 Days of Activism in November/December each year.

If you would like to know more about the aims or objectives of the campaign, or how you can be involved in raising awareness of domestic and family violence or abuse in your specific communities, contact the Community Development team on (07) 3205 0555 or CommunityDevelopment@moretonbay.qld.gov.au.
